How the PS3 ezChill Works

PS3 ezChill Usage and Operation

  • The PS3 ezChill can be easily adjusted using a small Phillips #0 screwdriver (+).
  • Turn the Speed Control Module clockwise to increase fan speed, or counter-clockwise to decrease speed.
  • Increasing the fan speed allows a higher constant airflow, which keeps the system as cool as possible and prevents the PS3 from ever reaching temperatures that can cause internal damage to the system.
  • A stock PS3 defaults at about 15-20% fan speed. We recommend setting the PS3 ezChill to ~40-60% speed for maximum performance.
  • The PS3 ezChill comes preset to ~50% fan speed, but different PS3 models may require slight tweaking for optimum cooling. Play a game for ~10 minutes, then check the exhaust air temperature – if it is still hot, increase fan speed until air temperature is optimal.
